Version 2019.3.1
Release Notes (Release Date: 2019-10-15)
Prerequisites
- This version of Swiftest only supports Chrome versions 74 through 78.
New Features
- The user interface of the Swiftest application has been re-skinned, with different colours, fonts, etc. Some areas of the system are still unchanged, and this work will continue as we release new versions over the coming weeks and months. In this version you may notice many differences. For example, the application Title Bar colour has changed to blue, the text entry areas for logging in to the application now appear more modern (and you can click the "eye" icon to reveal your password), and all the "flyouts" for adding/editing of Projects, Scenarios, Tests, etc. have changed. This is part of DWS' continued drive to maintain a consistent experience across our products, and remain up-to-date with modern user interface standards for applications.
- Metadata Columns are now available. These are custom fields that can be applied to Projects, Scenarios, and Tests to store any additional information, not overwise provided for by the "base" system. Administrator users can access them by clicking Tools -> Configure Metadata. For more information, a "How To" guide is available on request.
- You will now be able to stop actions, tests, and queues which are running too long. To do so, click the new "Stop" button on any of the following screens, and the currently executing action will stop as soon as it is able to do so:
- the "Create Action" screen,
- the "Execute Test" screen, and
- the "Execute Queue" screen.
- In later toolset versions, JDE changed the way it handled E1 Pages. Swiftest has been updated to cater for this change, so you can now run tests against the latest version of E1 Pages.
Corrections
- Under certain situations, when executing the "Set Form Value" action, where JDE had put a "*" in the field, Swiftest would fail to set the value. This has been fixed.
- It was sometimes possible (for example, over a slow Internet connection) to have a situation where there were duplicate Repository Datastore values in the system, and this caused data integrity issues and other problems elsewhere in the system. The way these values are stored has been changed, so it should no longer be possible to get into this situation.
- Adding a new action to a test, then executing the test all the way to completition (and closing the web browser), then attempting to add a new action, used to cause an unexpected error. This has been fixed.
